The Arthur Terry Teaching School Hub, SCITT Open Evening
Join us on 6th October, to learn more about the wonderful world of teaching!
Have you always dreamt of teaching, or maybe even fancy a career change?
Meet the Arthur Terry SCITT team at Arthur Terry School on 6th October, 6:30pm to 7:30pm to find out everything you need to know about joining the wonderful world of teaching.
Have a one-to-one conversation with a specialist in the subject area you are passionate about and listen to our talk to find out more information.
Our SCITT course provides QTS and a PGCE validated by Birmingham City University. First established in 2012, with an Outstanding Ofsted grade for Leadership and Management, we run courses in most secondary subjects (with Post-16 experience) and primary education. We were one of the first to become a national Teaching School with a long history of working collaboratively with many universities in the Midlands.
We look to recruit the very best from a range of backgrounds (career changers or straight from university) and offer diverse teaching experiences in urban and rural settings. Once qualified, many gain positions in our schools. Our completion rate and employment rate have always been consistently above the national average.
Our programme is at the forefront of initial teacher training, with a focus on subject-specific pedagogy, cognitive science and opportunities to rehearse before entering the classroom. We have designed the course to give you all the basics in the first term and a chance to build up your teaching timetable gradually as your confidence increases.
