The Coleshill School – Enrichment
At The Coleshill School, we believe that a well-rounded education extends far beyond the classroom. We are dedicated to providing our students with a diverse range of enrichment opportunities that complement their academic studies and help them develop essential life skills.
Enrichment Opportunities
With over 16 enrichment clubs offered each week, there is something for every student to get involved in. From sports and performing arts to STEM-focused activities and community service, our extensive enrichment programme is designed to cater to a wide range of interests and abilities.
To ensure that students are actively engaged in these opportunities, we have implemented a system where they can scan a QR code to register their attendance. This not only helps us track participation, but it also allows students to earn “Children’s University” hours and SPIRIT points for their house. At the end of each half term, we hold a raffle, and the top three students with the highest attendance are recognised for their commitment.
All of our clubs are either held over lunch time or after school. All after school clubs finish at 4pm.
Children’s University
Children’s University is a highly beneficial program for students as it fosters a love for learning beyond the traditional classroom setting. By offering engaging and interactive activities through our enrichment programme it encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. Children’s University provides students with opportunities to explore new interests, develop essential life skills, and build confidence through hands-on experiences. Additionally, it promotes lifelong learning by recognising and rewarding students for their extracurricular achievements, both in and out of school, inspiring them to take ownership of their education. By participating in Children’s University, students gain valuable experiences that enhance their academic growth, personal development, and future aspirations.
Competitive Sports and School Games
In addition to our extracurricular clubs, we place a strong emphasis on competitive sports and participation in the School Games programme. Our students have the opportunity to represent The Coleshill School in a variety of sporting events, from traditional team sports to individual disciplines. This not only fosters a sense of school pride but also teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
Our dedication to sports excellence has been recognised with the prestigious Platinum School Games award, a testament to the high-quality physical education and competitive opportunities we provide.
Enriching the Whole Child
At The Coleshill School, we believe that a well-rounded education is essential for the holistic development of our students. By offering a diverse range of enrichment activities, we aim to nurture their passions, develop their skills, and instil the values of our school – Work Hard, Be Kind, and Take Responsibility. Through active participation in these enrichment opportunities, our students gain valuable experiences that will serve them well both in and out of the classroom.
